Surfs Up

I love the bright colors in the Amy Tangerine collection, they are perfect for scrapping some of my Hawaii photos from this year.

I cut out all the scallops from the patterned paper and added them in strips inside the frame of the other patterned paper.

I added the place and date with some cut up strips of patterned paper and letter stickers.

I also cut out the flower to add some embellishment.  I really love how it turned out.

Happiness Project Week 4

I can't believe I have actually had the time to keep on top of this project.  With the kids home for summer it makes having scrapping time a little harder.  For this week my happiness came from things that have made me happy for a long time.

My first happy thing this week is Coke Slurpees, I have loved Coke Slurpees for as long as I can remember, in the summer there is no better way for me to cool down.  I was even more excited when they came out out a new refillable Slurpee cup that changes colors - so cool!

My second happy thing this week is going to the movies, we try and do things as a family as often as we can to stay connected and make us a stronger family.  One of the things we all love to do is go to the movies.  I think the boys like it more for the snacks (we always have tons of buttery popcorn, Twizzlers and sometimes they get those ice cream treats from the vending machine), but I love that we get to spend time together as a family.  This week we went and saw Spiderman.

I  love these little happy moments!  Thanks for stopping by.

Happiness Project Week 3

This week it was easy to choose my happy moments!

The first was the Grad Luncheon.  I spent pretty much the whole school year looing for ideas on Pinterest, shopping for everything and making decorations and the grad gifts.  I was so thrilled that it came off without a hitch and the kids loved it and had a blast.  The theme was "Let your true colors shine" which I got from the Phil Collins song True Colors.  We had lots of bright, colorful decorations, a candy bar, jones soda, a slideshow of the kids from Kindergarden to Grade 7, and lots of games and dancing.  It was wonderful to watch them have the time of their life.

My most happy moment was the day Rhys graduated.  He looked so handsome in his shirt and tie and I was just so proud.  It was an awesome day!

My husband finally got my board put up and I hung all my little happy projects on it this week too.  I love it, it hang over my desk and everytime I look at it I smile.

I can't wait until it's full :)

Birrd Watching

My cat buttons loves to bird watch.  We put a bell on her collar to stop her from actually catching them but she will climb fences and tress to try and catch them.

I love these photos of her on the fence, you can tell my her expression she was pretty intent on catching the bird.

To creat this layout I cut out some hexagon shapes from patterened paper and used them as my background then added a title.  It was nice that one of the hexagons had a bird in it so it matched well with my theme.

Happiness Project Week 2

I am loving doing this project.  It makes me take time to reflect on my week and think about all the things that make me happy, and the things that don't.  I also love that each one is like a mini scrapbook page, I think I will continue to do this and as they get to be too many to fit on the frame I will bind them together and turn them into a mini album.  Love it!

This week was another busy week with school functions.  They had a parent appreciation afternoon where the kids put on performances for the parents.  There was singing and dancing and lots of fun.  Rhys' class did country circle and line dancing and Rhys was not happy about it.  I was so proud of him that even though he really didn't want to do it he dressed up and danced his heart out.

Linden's class put on a tea for the parents, since Mike couldn't make it Nana came instead.  Linden was so happy to have her there.  He served us punch and an ice cream sandwich, then they sang a thank you song and his teacher Ms. Tan played a slide show of the year.  It was awesome.

I am writing all the journaling on the back and I am waiting for my husband to put up the frame so I can start hanging them up.  I can't wait.

What an Adventure

This school year was filled with ups and downs and crazy times.  I never could have gotten through it without the great people around me.  It was quite an adventure so this sentiment was perfect for this card.

Thank you to all the amazing friends that helped make this year great!

Shine On

I wanted to make something shiny and fun for a friend.  I ended up covering the Cover-All with sequins and even adding some shiny letters from American Crafts.  I love how it turned out!

I hope she has as much fun with it as I had making it.

Quick Pockets for your Mini Albums Video Tutorial

Hi all, one of the things I love to do is add pockets to my mini albums. They are a great way to add journaling, keepsakes and extra photos.  For this video I am creating a mini album for all the rewards cards that clutter up my wallet.  As I was making it I thought it would be a great time to make a quick video to show you how I add pockets to my mini albums.

Here's a look at the finished mini album.

I hope you enjoy this really fun and quick way to add pockets to your mini albums.

More cards

I finished the cards for the kids instructors.  For these cards I used the tags from American Crafts Pebbles collection.  For embellishments I added some doilies that I sprayed with Glimmer Mist and the awesome ruffle paper from the Dear Lizzy collection.
