Stamping :)

I am not much of a stamper but I always love playing around and I really wanted to try using my new distress inks with a Glimmer Mist template.

I created the background using a template made for misting ink but instead used my distress inks and just rubbed the ink onto the paper with the foam handle.  I then stamped the bird house and little birdies and added them around the journaling card.

I had so much fun making this card maybe I will try my hand at stamping more in the future.

Project 366

This year (new iPhone in hand) I decided to give the Project 365 a go. If you haven't heard of it you take a picture a day, every day, for the whole year. I was a little daunted by the task but so far I have had a blast taking pictures with my new phone and using the My365 app. I decided I wanted to create a mini album to hold all my photos but doing a mini with 365 (366 this year) photos would be a little too bulky - LOL! I played around and finally came up with a solution to print out the whole month of pictures into one photo.

9 years ago today...

On my birthday I got the best present ever...my son Linden.

He came in kicking and screaming and hasn't stopped, he is my love and joy, my heart and soul, my pain and anguish and everything in between.  Happy Birthday!

Origami Hearts and a Video

Valentine's Day is only a few days away - yikes.  I thought I better get cracking on making a card for my husband and when I saw these really cute origami hearts online I just had to use them.

For this card I used some old Crate Paper I had scraps left over from and made a bunch of origami hearts and I wanted to make a card that looked like a heart monitor showing my heart beats :).

I used embroidery floss to create the zig zag heart beats and added a origami heart at the end of each one, then added a quick sentiment with letter stickers and inked the edges with chalk ink.

Here's a quick video showing how to make the origami hearts.

I think my husband will love it.

XOXO

I love little brown paper bags - they are so fun to dress up and fill with fun!  I made this one for my class and they loved the little punched out hearts at the top.  I just added some patterned paper behind them, some XOXO and some cute pink twine and it makes a super cute and easy gift for someone.

Surprise someone today - thanks for stopping by!

Love Note Envelope

I got the Martha Stewart score board for Christmas and it had this cool envelope template to use with it so I thought I would try making some cute mini envelopes for my son to give to his classmates.

This one measures 3" x 3" when it is completed and has a little mini note inside.  I think for my son we will put a small treasure in each envelope.

I can't wait to make these with my son - he will love adding a little surprise inside for his classmates.

Wedding Frame

Over at the Bind-It-All blog today's post is sbout a Cover-All frame I made for my brother-in-law.  He recently got married and I wanted to make the happy couple something special to remeber their big day.   I made a bunch of these frames over Christmas for presents and love making them.

To make them just cover the Zutter Cover-All with patterened paper, add a few embellishments and photo's and you have a great keepsake for the wedding couple that they can display like a frame.

For this frame I used the Yours Truly collection from Echo Park.  To see more photo's of the inside head on over to the Bind-It-All Blog.

Folded Paper and a Video

I love coming up with new ways to use paper on my layouts and cards.  I used this quick folded paper technique for my "Sweetie Pie" card I posted a few days ago and was playing around with the idea of using the same squares to make different patterns. I realized just laying out the squares in a different way I could create a chevron zig zig pattern.

For this card I used the Amy Tangerine paper collection.  Here is the card I made (love the canvas flower).  I love how the folded paper gives this card so much dimension.

Here is the video showing how I made the pinwheel design and the chevron design using these simple folded squares - I hope you enjoy it!
