The Paper Nest and stamping

I am not a stamper but when I saw the super cute stamps from The Paper Nest I knew I was in for some fun. Instead of using the stamps in the traditional way and coloring them in I knew I would have to incorporate one of my favorite things - fussy cutting. I used some fun 6x6 paper pads and stamped the image several times and paper pieced the image together.

First up is Balloon Owen - He is perfect for a birthday card! I paper pieced him using the Crate Paper Boys Rule collection and even added a fun scooter for him.

For the perfect finishing touch I added the new Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Chevron 25 to the top of the card. I love this new shape and can see using it all the time.

Next Up is Tea Time Avery - I thought she would be perfect for a Tea Party Invitation! I paper pieced her using the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer 6x6 paper pad .

Since it was a party invitation I thought the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Pennant 25 would be the perfect embellishment for the card.

Next up is Rainy Day Ellie - I thought she was perfect for a pick me up card. I used the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer 6x6 paper pad to piece her together.

I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Butterfly 25 to add a fun embellishment. I also added some glossy accents and glitter to the raindrops for some texture.

I had a lot of fun with these stamps - Thanks for stopping by.

Frozen

My son participated in a medley of Frozen with his voice teacher and a few of her students.  They got asked to perform it a few more times and I wanted to make a layout to add to Linden's Portfolio Book.

I used the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer 6x6 paper pad to cover the wood veneer paper and added some fun embellishments.

Here he is in the $2.00 Olaf costume we made.

My favorite line was I like warm hugs.

He had so much fun doing these concerts and I loved watching him.

Thanks for stopping by.

More Teacher Gifts

My final gift whew - I made a fun gift for my son's voice teacher.  They did an awesome "Frozen" medley and Linden sang the Olaf song In Summer.  I loved the part when he came on and his teacher Tracy and her husband Tony (they sang Love is an Open Door) gave him a hug.  I found this cute printable on Pinterest and printed it off and added a photo from one of their performances.

I also made a key chain from a photo hubby took after the show.

I have to say it was an amazing year and he is so lucky to have these two amazing people in his life.

Thanks for stopping by.

Room Decor

One of my son's friends had a birthday recently and she was redecorating her room and asked if I could make something for her.  I had seen this idea of the heart shape photo collage on Pinterest and decided it would be perfect.

I also made her some dance cut outs with my Silhouette and a monogram with her initial.

Double Z Cards

Usually when I make cards I stick to the standard size but this time I wanted to try something new and saw this fun tutorial on Youtube for a double Z card.

I made two version - one for a girl and one for a boy.  First up for the boy card I used the Crate Paper Boys Rule 6x6 paper pad and stickers.

I like the fun way this card opens up.

For the girl version I used the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer 6x6 paper pad and embellishments.

I love the wood embellishments that came with this collection.

I really loved how these cards turned out.

PL/365

Still behind, still playing catch up lol.

I finally broke down and bought some PL cards - I got the Amy Tan Plus One mini collection and the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer collection.  I have to say it make it a lot easier to just pick some cards and work with them but I don't like the rounded edges and the way they sit in the pockets.  I think after I use these up I will go back to using the 6x6 paper pads.

More competitions this week and Linden did great - my favorite Nicest Kids In Town is awesome I love the costumes.

Practice outside.

Mother's Day was so fun, the kids made me breakfast in bed and I got flowers, a new cup and a Starbucks GC.

we also spent the day with my Mom out at Steveston and went to Pajos for fish and chips - yum :)

Scrappy goodies from Scrapbook Nerd, babysitting and playing with chalk, head butts from buttons and a cute girls birthday.

I love that Scrapbook Nerd stamps Happy Mail on their boxes :)

A trip to Whistler for some dance competitions with my friend Jeannine.

We stayed at her time share and had a blast at the pool the weather was amazing.

We walked around Whistler, met up with friends for dinner and even got to see the Sheepdogs in concert.

For this day I used a Simple Stories Flip page to add a bit more about a story that happened the first day of competition.  The kids were playing around in the pool area and when they came back Linden had a big scrape on his face and wrist.  They all said he got it when he tripped on a carpet.  This was one hour before competition and it looked nasty.  He said he was okay and we headed off to the competition.

He did awesome and they got first place.  He was in a lot of pain and it looked way worse then just a rug burn.  Well I found out just after the competition that he actually fell when they were playing around on the Treadmill in the gym which they weren't supposed to be on.  One of the kids couldn't lie and told her Dad.  I decided to leave it and not ruin the whole weekend but just to test him and the other friend I asked them several times what happened and they stuck to their story.  I just really watched him and it seemed to be fine.  He made it through the rest of the weekend without any problems.  I am just glad it wasn't worse than it was.

He competed in Hip Hop and the other Musical Theatre and did awesome as always even if the judging was terrible.

We finished off the trip with some yummy Sushi and one last trip to El Furniture which was awesome.
