Happy Thanksgiving

Here in Canada it is Thanksgiving weekend and I wanted to make some decorations for our table. My husband picked up some cute pumpkins from Target while he was in the US and I used some Crate Paper patterned paper to make some fall leaves.

I hand cut come leaves from the patterned paper and added a few to the top of each pumpkin.

I love the way they look and they looked even better on my table.

Dream

I can't believe it's been 5 months since I last posted, It's been a pretty crazy few months but I really hope to post at least once a month this year and hopefully more that that :)

My one little word for 2017 is DREAM. I always look up my word in the dictionary and here's a few of the meanings:

noun
1.
a succession of images, thoughts, or emotions passing through the mind during sleep.
2.    an aspiration; goal; aim:
3.    a wild or vain fancy.
4.    to see or imagine in sleep or in a vision.
5.
to imagine as if in a dream; fancy; suppose.
6.
to pass or spend (time) in dreaming

7. most desirable; ideal

For me this year is about chasing dreams not only for me but my whole family. My oldest son is graduating high school and we are doing everything we can to make his dream of BCIT come true. My youngest is competing in Anageim this year and his dreams are to win big. My husband always dreams of being able to do the things he loves so I am hoping to help him do more of that in 2017. I am dreaming of Disneyland, scrapbooking and family.

I found a few quotes on Pinterest that I loved. It's very fitting that a lot of the dream quotes I found were Disney quotes.

What's your dream for 2017?

Fast and Easy

I love page kits, not a lot of people make them anymore but when I saw the one from Paige Evans Fancy Free collection I grabbed it and I knew I wanted to use it for a photo from my 25th Wedding Anniversary.

It was so fast and easy love it!  I did add a few other embellishments from the puffy sticker sheet and wood veneers but I just love this layout!

My Happy Heart

I was so lucky to get to spend some time with my favorite girls the other day, we took them for lunch downtown and walked around the waterfront. These girls make me happy!

You can see the process video for this layout on my YouTube channel here:

I documented the fun day with the Maggie Holmes Bloom collection.

Summer Crush

I am sure we have all had a summer crush at some time in our life and this summer I am totally crushing on Andrea Bethke. For my second Summer Camp challenge I am challengein you to tell me about your summer crush, who is inspiring you right now.

I took Andrea's One Magical Mini class on Big Picture Classes and fell in love. Like me she loves Disneyland and mini albums. I was inspired to finally get started on my Disneyland Midori. You can see how I made these pages on my video here

I made a cute shaker pocket for the cover of my first notebook.

I used the Minc foiling technique from the class to make this fun gold castle for the inside page.

Our first stop was a Breakfast with Minnie in the park where we met Minnie and a bunch of other characters.

The food was amazing and I loved the cute Mickey Waffles.

I hope you stop by in a few weeks to see part 2 of my Disney Midori.

Thanks for stopping by.

Friday Inspiration with Joy

This week is another Inspiration Friday with Joy. This month we are taking our inspiration from Ashley Horton a fellow scrapbooker and owner of The Cut Shoppe on Etsy.

I decided to use the free Summer cut file from Scrapbook Nerd for my layout. You can see how it came together on my channel here:

I am using the lovely Maggie Holmes Bloom collection for this layout and I love it.

Layout Tag

I participated in a game of layout tag over at Scrapbook Nerd, I love playing these they are so fun! Here's the video of the process:

I did one of my favorite things for this layout - fussy cutting. I cut all the pretty flowers from an Amy Tangerine patterned paper and layered them in a circle.

Then I added some of the fun rubber embellies in this collection - I really love these.

The photos are from the day we took my youngest son's grad photos so we stopped at some scenic places and took a bunch of photos. I really love how they turned out.

If you want to check out all the layouts and how they changed over the course of the game head on over to ScrapbookkNerd.com.
